Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture is a technique of complementary medicine in which practitioners activates specific points along energy channels (meridians) on the body- most often by inserting thin needles through the skin. It is an age-old healing practice primarily used to relieve pain but also has been used to treat other conditions. Acupuncture ( Accus + Punctura ) is a latin American word, Accus means needle and punctura means puncture through needle to make a hole. Our ancient people found that there are certain points in our body which can cure diseases. These points are known as VARMAM and the same is used in China as Acupuncture points.

Acupuncture is usually associated with Chinese (Haung Di and Shen Ning: Ancient gods → Yellow Emperors Classic of Internal Medicine- 5000 years ago), but even though it has progressed further in China, it is not entirely a Chinese possession, Research has revealed the existence of acupuncture treatment in Indus valley in India during the stone age. In India our ancient Saint "Sushrut” found out this methodology through their meditation process. He wrote about it in detail in a book named "Sushrut Sahinta". The term Suchi Shastra (7000 years ago) means Acupuncture and Suchi toda means to prick or insert a needle. There are clear indications that acupuncture travelled from India through Nepal to China where it was preserved and nourished since ancient times.
